It's a man's voice I don't recognize, so I tell her I gotta go. He says, teasingly, "Oh, so you gotta tell the guy you're hanging up, huh?"
It was Johnny's dad, calling me from poolside in Florida. Donetta was in the water and he was just thinking of me and wanted to call and tell me he loves me, they both do, and they miss me.
That was such a sweet thing to happen to me today! Johnny and I broke up months ago, but I'm still as close to his family as I ever was. It's a damn shame I didn't love him as much as I love them, it would have been a great family to hang with.
They still think Johnny's wrong not being with me, which is cute since I don't want to be with Johnny. But he got a kick out of me telling him I'd taken a date to the bar Johnny's tending now in Brazil..lol! Poor Rick, me using him like that, but it was fun to watch Johnny squirm. I told Gina on the phone that if I were a games player, Johnny would be easy prey. All it took to get his attention was showing up with another man.
Anyway, I just love his family, so I wanted to remember how I felt the day Bud called me and made me laugh and feel loved. :-)
