After days of encouragement both gentle and blunt from my loved ones, I feel like I've got a handle on this thing again. I'm gonna rock this new adventure--the move, the schoolin', all of it. I'll come home when I can and be in touch when I can't and hope that some of y'all will brave the snowy wilds of MA for occasional visits, and everything, ultimately, will be ok. Better than, even.
I got my financial aid offer from MHC yesterday. It's...very generous. I mean, VERY. It's gratifying indeed to see what they're willing to invest in me. Unless Smith comes up with a lot more (and that seems passingly unlikely), I think I know where I'll be come the end of August.
I'll still need to take out a loan to live on (something tells me that trying to work more than very part-time while carrying a full courseload there would be tantamount to academic suicide), but not nearly so much of one as I had feared. $10,000, maybe--which is still terrifying to little Ms. I Have No Consumer Debt, but could be lots worse.
I expect I'll go through another couple cycles of crazy before I jump in a moving van headed east, but I know now that I'll get through them--largely because, damn, I have the best friends in the Universe.
