Great entry. I do wish that there were more films/tv shows that showed the original story and not just Beauty and the Beast. Some are very dark but little changes that won't affect telling the original story will do little to no harm.

I'd like to see a version of The Little Mermaid that is just like the book. Foreign versions such as a Russian movie from the 70s I think, have been closer to the original.

Exactly! And when I got the book I didn't know what to expect because the story itself is almost 80 pages long and then to learn where B&TB originated and to know the cliche that it is now is so insulting! I want to try to change that but I can't and its frustrating, I've tried like 3 times to start the story but I can't get it right.

Actually the closest version of TLM I've ever come across is the anime version of Andersons tale. Its like $60 on ebay though and VHS only. I have it somewhere probably back at my Moms (Thats the first copy of it we had, creeped me out though since its anime)

Yay! I'm not alone! I personally like everything in TLM (disney version) but Ariel. But I love the original tale for it. And it's sad this is the cliche we get tossed at us, Disney is destroying the tales in a way. Yes it gives them happy ever after but for some that wasn't the point.

True but Disney is honestly the biggest media and the first thing people think about.

I want to write one, I want to write one so passionately but I cannot find the words or the start. It truly upsets me :\
