..but I agree with the drunk guy shooting his lawn mower.
MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee man was accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. Keith Walendowski, 56, was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.
According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police quote, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."
A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She said he was intoxicated.
Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted.
A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday morning.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080725/ap_on_fe_st/odd_mower_madness A man's yard is his shooting range! This made my afternoon after finding out it's going to cost $1500 to get rid of that tree (bad) but that since it's on my fence and my hot tub, that's property damage that has to be removed (and covered under my homeowner's insurance after the deductible).
The tree was part of a split tree - where two trees grow right next to each other - they end up not being able to grow their roots in the direction of the other tree, so they're compromised. The thing was easily 40 feet high and on the downward part of the slope, so it was just an accident waiting for high winds to happen. I talked to my neighbor today and she said her son was woken up at around 1 AM by a noise but they didn't see what it was, either - until the next afternoon. I'm trying to remember if I was home by then, and if I was, I was in the shower, and i"m shocked I didn't hear it. Maybe it was later than that? Not sure. But the thing's so damn huge I'd be shocked to have been home and not heard it.
