The luck of the draw

Dang, Cantab goes up against Columbus WB in the first round this time (instead of the second, I think it was last time).  In the second round, they see Berkeley and Paris - I'm wondering if the Paris team will compete in English or French.  Should be interesting so see how good writing goes up against the Broadway stage production performance and choreography mentality of Berkeley's team pieces (do they even have individual poet pieces?).  That said, Cantab has a group piece this year that I've only seen once so far but I really like it.  I've never been a big fan of strictly t in unison team pieces (I'm too much of a syncopation whore to like that), so that should tell you something about what they're doing.   I guess I'm a writer/listener at heart, because I'm more impressed by the verbal choreography than the stage choreography.  But everyone knows what wins bouts - something to impress the average guy off the street.  I'm not that at all.

The two Columbus teams are going up against each other again.  Fun!!  Worcester and the Lizard Lounge are in a bout, too.  NorthBeast!!  *chuckle*

**Edit - oh yeah, the first bout is early, so I'm going to be mad crunk before I get there (open bar early)...could be fun.
