So nice....
..this time of year - so good.
This morning - bright, warm, up as high as mid, maybe high 70s. I cleaned the yard (three dogs make a lot of doggy mess, for sure), finally fixed the cabinet so the refrigerator fits against the wall and then cleaned and washed the entire kitchen. I'm reminded both how much and yet how easy it's going to be to do the cabinets over (and how it needs to be done).
Cleaned upstairs some, so it's not as bad. Hope to get the winter clothes all put up in the plastic bins upstairs tomorrow at some point. Need to do a second coat in the hallway - this green I picked is really bright and springlike - makes a nice transition from the outside to the darker blue-green in the living room.
Looking into what I'll need to do to replace the existing front door with a pre-hung door - they had a really good deal on the kind of steel entry door I like (with a nice window inset) at the Home Depot - I think it's the same size as my door opening, but I need to look and make sure i know how to measure and get things right. Also will need a new screen door - this one is completely shot.
Almost ready to pull down the rest of the tiles in the bathroom and dive into the retiling around the bath. The bathtub refinishing takes three days to dry and they have to tape and then re-caulk around the tiles when they do it so I'll pull down all the old stuff and put in the new (while holding off on the caulk between the tiles and bathtub) before I have them come in and refinish the bathtub. As much as I'd like them to do some awesomely neat color (like blue of some shade), I have a healthy fear of ending up with a pink or avocado tub (not literally, but picking a color that sounds good at the time but later you're like "oh, please, who ever thought that was nice"). White tiles and tub, I can always paint the walls. :) Then again, I'm still looking at the smaller mosaic type tiles for the walls - haven't decided completely on that yet.
Now it's cooling off, the windows are open and breeze is blowing in, and I'm getting ready to grill a steak. If only the weather could stay just like this all summer long....
