Um, yeah. My body is definitely feeling the effects of my hard-core shovel workout this morning. I knew when I was finishing that it was a good workout - lots of sweatiness, a pleasant ache in my arms. My form was very good, because I'm not feeling any ache in my lower back and lots in my arms and the backs of my legs. These places in the legs are also ones that will be used a lot in my next skiing adventure, so it's all good. I'm really feeling that work now, and I was super-sleepy earlier, which tells me I've done good, physical exertion.
After the shoveling and cleaning up, I went to Framingham to get ski boots. I ended up with a pair of Salomons that were on sale and fit very well. They're a half size larger than the ones I ordered online, and they fit very comfortably. Surprisingly, they're a womens' boot - the guy at the store convinced me that my problem (the big calf thing) is common, and some adjustment of the placement of the buckles on the upper made all the difference. They're very comfortable, fairly easy to get into, and they even look nice. I also picked up a pair of mittens that are ingenious - they have a glove liner and there's a zipper adjacent to the thumb so you can unzip and slip out your fingers to do things that mittens don't allow without having to take off the mitten. I really dig them. Since I like my fingers to stay warm, the mitten thing is the way to go.
Damn, I'm almost a girl - talking about what I articles of clothing I bought at the store...what's next?
Although the freestyle battle didn't go off tonight, I got to say hello to "Cowboy" Matt and spent some time analyzing newly imported files in Scratch. The program gets all cranky if you have a session where there's a lot of analyzing of tracks going on while you're performing and you have to reboot, so I'm trying to analyze new things as I pull them into the computer with iTunes. Since I got the Freestyle Files (vol 3 and 4) on CD for a really great price, I had four CDs worth of awesome tunes to add to my library.
On that lovely note, I'm going to wrap things up and head off to bed. Tomorrow we're supposed to get hammered again with the weather (well, tomorrow or tomorrow night, depending on which weather person you listen to) and I'd like to get the first pair of ski boots that didn't fit in the mail back to the store before it slips my mind. I'm really good at letting things slip my mind if I don't take care of them, I've noticed. You might even call it a trend...
