So, we all knew I was going to Nationals. I'm leaving a week from Monday. All kinds of excited.
Got a call last night from a volunteer coordinator who wanted to see what I was doing - and needed a sound person for one of the venues for Semis. Of course, I volunteered. She knew I was "the DJ" and was a bit hesitant at asking me to take on this duty, too, but I don't see a problem with it at all. I'm glad I can be part of this, and if I have specialized knowledge (yay for school at NEIA) that I can contribute, I'm thrilled to help.
So this was cool enough. But then, today...I got an offer I couldn't refuse.
No, it wasn't the Mafia, it was Mike Henry.
I'm going to be the DJ at the team finals.
*runs around screaming*
*falls down*
*gets up again*
I'm still excited. Do you know how cool this is?
This is right up there with playing at WMC for me. I'm very excited to go from working the coffee bar at the Individual slam championships in Worcester (my first real exposure) to being the DJ at team nationals this year. It's quite a privilege to be able to try and add something to the finals.
Maybe you don't think it's cool, but if so, you're just not me. I think this is damn cool, the bee's knees.
See you at Nationals, guys. :) Better see some of you up on the stage there, too.
