nerf says that I am a girl because I spent the other day vaguely depressed and hermit-ing, eating a ton of ice cream and watching Keira Knightley movies. Hey, Domino has a Tom Waits cameo in it! My apartment is spotless and the dishes done, every picture framed and even my room is clean with nothing except maybe a sleeping kitty upon my floor. I am fascinated by people when you get down to it. Company is good for me but man I need a girlfriend. I R lonely lately. Maybe that's why I have gone Apoptygma Berserk on eBay these last couple months or whatever! I have stuff coming constantly I love it. Yesterday for eg. I got magazine pages from March, 1951: How To Build A Family Foxhole. I have tons of this cold war stuff now. I'm expecting at least another 4 or 5 things plus music plus my brand-new-in-box, mind you mix-board. Fun! When my new mixer gets here I'm positive I'll just put new mixes up to download every other day on my FaceBook. 6 songs at a time, silly themes. It's gonna be a blast.
1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not. Quotes are good. I like quotes.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3.Update your LJ with the answers to the questions. (Don’t answer the same questions I am, you have to wait for me to reply to you.)
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.
First, my questions and resulting answers from

1. how did you start djing?
There were some Goth/Industrial things happening in Calgary around 2000, except I had moved to Edmonton back then and I was very, very removed from all of it. An old scenester whom I happened to be oddly & distantly related to opened a little Goth/Industrial bar which spun out of these events and named it The Nemesis Lounge. He called me up in Edmonton and was like: "You've always wanted to try this, do you want a night? and I jumped! I enlisted my darling friend Hope and we took on the DJ monikers dAndroid and diva23. Our first night January, 2001 we were so scared, literally looking at the mix-board going: "Wow, how do you turn this stuff on?" But we had awesome fun! diva23 didn't love it but I'd caught the bug, and apparently some attention. I did some DJ guest spots after that, and some Rave-ish kinda events. I spun in California, and then Ballet Mechanique began and spun on and on into history.
2. do you think you'll be a hobo wrangler forever or do you intend to switch paths?
Definitely not forever! Maybe even not much longer. My job, and should I stay, is mainly what I'm warring with right now. I'm not precisely burnt out, but I'm frustrated with the politics at my work. I would love a change but I make a shiny dime all things considered and have my seniority and well, I am lazy ultimately. I've been considering different school options forever but school is a scary proposition for me! I was miserable in every aspect when I did go, and I was almost relieved when I was finally booted in grade 12. I eventually went back into adult-ed and then got myself into University, but I was so burnt-out from my life goings-ons at the time and ill-prepared for UofC, that I did poorly and then quit. Then here I am, we'll see what happens.
3. if you couldn't ever have another slurpie again, what would you drink instead?
Oh man I don't know. I'd probably use my blender more!
4. where in the world do you think would be the best place to see an industrial festival?
Germany? I don't know. After watching the Sigur Ros movie, Iceland looked awfully neat.
5. if you could have any animal (real or not) for a pet, what would you pick?
A mermaid in a jar? Umm I don't know, a griffin would have kitty fur and I could fly on its back!
And 5 more from
dark_nymph.
1. If you could only travel to one place in your life with unlimited money... for one vacation only - let's say, for a month... where would it be and why?
If place=continent then definitely Europe. But if place = 1 city then umm, maybe Tokyo? All that cyberpunk I read has given me a very romanticized view of Japan and unlimited money would be awesome! I'd stay in the best hotels and just go nuts!
2. What is your charity of choice? Why do you choose to support that charity over other ones?
I suppose the Meow Foundation. I like that they handpick owners for the abandoned kitties. *nods* Everyone is aware of all the various humanitarian charities and diseases thus they already get tons of money.
3. Where do you see yourself in another 30 years?
That's so hard! As much as I'm fascinated by the future, I never truly give it much realistic thought. I take it very much for granted that I'll just be... okay. I would like to open my own business eventually, and I have ideas but no direction currently for them. I don't know we'll see when I get there. That's just how I roll.
4. What was your favourite TV show as a kid?
We were pretty poor and I never had cable. We also never had a VCR or anything until I was about 15-ish. I liked shows my Dad liked really so, Dukes of Hazzard, Littlest Hobo, some game shows, things like that. Cartoons I was easy it was all about Bugs Bunny and company, I loooved Wile E. Coyote!
5. What would you rather battle against and why? Vampires, Werewolves or Zombies from 28 Days Later?
Oohhh Rage Zombies! Pretending all such things could be real then Vampires would be too powerful really? You can only do so much against the supernatural. I like werewolves but same thing, besides I'd want to be one! Now zombies? Man I spend sooo much mental energy thinking about what I would do in the event of sudden survival showdown time! IT'S ON! LET'S ROLL! /dweeb
