So my agent has indicated that I should try to write something "that's not fan fiction, where the main character is younger than twenty or thirty, at the most."

At which point I thought, "Oh, but I wrote ... yeah, he was sixty-three or something. But wait, there's - fine, she was eighty-seven. I can sort of see what you're saying here."
