Half term has arrived after seven and half long, long, LONG weeks. I soooo need a rest!!
Unfortunately, I have so much to do that I doubt I will get much rest at all. I am travelling down to London on the train on Tuesday to see Chris and will be spending Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with him. That usually translates to me house-cleaning for the entire time, and cooking him healthy meals which he wouldn't otherwise have.
Monday, my car goes in for a service. Friday we have a workman coming to fix all the fascias and soffits on the house. Where, exactly, is my relaxation time going to kick in??
On another note - and, sorry, this is a very bad-tempered post - I am so cross with my sister at the moment. When my mother died in July, we agreed that when Grace got a Saturday free, we would go over to my sister's house and the four of us, me, Jacq, Rachel and Grace, would go through my mother's things and see if there was anything we wanted to keep before it went to charity. I appreciate it is a long time since July, but Grace's first proper Saturday off since then is this Saturday, so I texted Jacq to see if we could go over to her house and sort out the stuff. She texted back to say she had got rid of most of it already, apart from a few things "that may sell". Without telling me. What is worse, in my view, is that when Mum and Dad moved out of their house and into the sheltered accommodation, Mum got rid of all our childhood books. Without telling us. And Jacq was very vocal with her disapproval on that score! Tell me, where is the difference here?
*deep breath*
Anyway, on Monday 4 November, we are going to bury Mum's ashes in the same churchyard where her grandad is buried. We have to be there for 10.30am and it's a good two hour drive from here to Manchester, so I will have to set out at 8.00am to be sure of getting through rush hour traffic on the M62.
I think I had better finish here, before I work myself up even further.
Happy days, all!! :D
