Today, I have:

  • cooked a vat of Ratatouille (now in five portions, cooling and ready for the freezer)
  • roasted 10 chicken drumsticks (now cooling and ready for the fridge)
  • roasted a whole load of peppers (capsicums for any americans reading) which were on their way out and couldn't really be eaten raw
  • baked a couple of cod fillets that were on special offer as they went off today
I have now eaten the peppers and cod for brunch and it was lovely.

I am slowly starting to trust my oven (it's old and electric) and we seem to have a deal - I only ask it to roast and bake things and it does and ok job.  Don't think I'll ever be able to cook things in it that require actual precision of heat and timing, but I'm ok with that for now.
