I just submitted the assignment that's been turning my hair gray for the last three weeks. It's a relief, but I guess it all really depends on the mark that's on it once I get it back! I hate and love that about uni. I've never had totally ruthless criticism of any work before now, and the feedback is just awesome. But then, everyone isn't the same either, and I find it a constant struggle not to determine the quality of my work by the series of letters - F, P, C, D or HD. My credit might be another person worst effort, or it might be someone's best. Yet everyone is treated the same when it comes to marks and made to feel hopeless or wonderful according to what the marker puts on their assignment. I like it, but then I don't. Anyway, this was for Medieval, and my lecturer is really fussy and his Irish accent just makes everything totally serious, so I hope he likes it!
It's really feeling like winter now. Day light savings ended yesterday so the nights are coming extra early, and today is grey and still. I put the washing in the drier instead of hanging it this morning cause the air was so cold.
The weekend was a massive one!
Fran graduated on Friday. I was so proud of her, and found the whole ceremony totally exciting. I'm not sure why I was so impressed; whether it's because I only really realised the mammothness of what she's completed when I saw her all dressed up (she looked great!), or if it's because I'm a student now so graduation has taken on a new meaning for me. Anyway, it was great, and our family was one of the loudest cheer squads! :-D
On Saturday Emma and Richard were married. The wedding was just beautiful - so cheerful, relaxed, sincere. They are a gorgeous couple and it was exciting to be there to share it with them. Christian weddings are certainly something to celebrate! Emma looked lovely and really happy, and Fran and the other bridesmaids were stunning too. I really liked the speeches too, which I find are usually one of the worst parts of weddings. Richard and his dad both cried during theirs' and that made me cry, but the dads were just both so proud of their son and daughter, and the Godly spouse that they have chosen! Ryan did a great job as best man too. And the bridesmaids got out of doing the waltz, so all were happy!
Fran's post has photos from both events and a nice commentary.
Tonight Greg and Brent are coming out for tea. Brent and I have to write the music rosters for next month which will probably take ages cause we're both still new at it but it'll be fun. Greg's just coming to play. Oh, and be fed. Boys are always heartily grateful for food!
