Application for Kawai Shizuka, Yu-Gi-Oh!

Dec 08, 2007 16:50

Shizuka yawns and stretches and gets out of the bed in her Hogwarts dormitory. Or, at least, she thought she was in her dormitory. When she looks around, she realizes she's actually standing, in a blue nightie and bunny slippers, at the front of some kind of theme park, with a mouse and a Cat watching her. Actually, the mouse looks rather familiar...

Mickey coughs theatrically. "'What is your name?'"

The girl looks around, eyes wide, slowly blinking, as though she almost expects something to jump out at her and grab her. "Oh... ah... Kawai Shizuka!" She eyes Mickey with some trepidation. "I-I'm sorry, what's going on here?"

"What is your quest?" asks the Cat. It's perched, suddenly, on the roof of one of the gate-stiles.

"M-My quest?" Shizuka turns to face the Cat, now. "I... I don't know. To get back to Hogwarts, I guess. I don't... Where is this place? Am I dreaming?"

"'What is the average w..?'" Mickey frowns down at the notebook. "You know, I don't really see why that's important." He flips a page. "'If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?'"

"Oh. Um." Shizuka has to give that some thought, but eventually she answers, holding up one finger. "That my parents never got divorced, so Katsuya and I could still live together. That Malik had never hurt Mai-san the way he did, so she didn't have to suffer. And..." She pauses. What's a good third wish? She thinks for a little bit before she decides she's got it, and she grins. "And for world peace, so everyone would be happy!"

"Or," the Cat says, examining its tail with interest, "if you were a genie and someone you were trying to give three wishes to was trying to trick you into giving him more, what would you say?"

"I don't know. I guess I'd just tell him, 'I'm sorry, sir, but I don't take make the rules. You only get three.' or something like that."

Mickey looks rather nonplused at the next, but reads, "'When the revolution comes, what skills will you be able to barter for food?'"

Shizuka looks as nonplussed as Mickey. "What? Barter? Revolution? What are you talking about?" She's so stunned that she never actually answers the question. She just stands there in silence, maybe wracking her brain for an idea, until the Cat speaks.

The Cat rolls its eyes in a friendly (and rather disconcertingly out-of-sync) way, and asks, "Milk, dark, or white chocolate?"

She breathes a sigh of relief at this much easier question. "Oh, milk, definitely," she says. "Dark is so bitter. I don't like that at all. And white's not even technically chocolate."

"'Choose the two coolest: robots, pirates, fairies, bears, ninjas, monkeys, vampires, or humans,'" says Mickey, giggling a bit as he goes through the list. "'Explain.'"

"Oh! Ah!" Shizuka hesitates, but eventually answers, "Fairies and humans! Fairies because they're beautiful and they can be sweet, but sometimes they're trickier than you'd think. They're so pretty, and there's more to them than meets the eye. And humans, because of their endless capacity for love and devotion to one another, and because we never give up."

"Great!" Mickey flips through the blank pages of the notebook at top, cartoon-y speed. "Well, I think that's just about it! Oh, and I'm supposed to ask, 'for your safety: are you carrying anything sharp?'"

"What? No! I don't even have my wand or anything..."

((Shizuka is taken about three years after the series finale of YGO. She was originally at hogwarts_hocus so she retains some memory of things/people there, but I'll try not to let it be too intrusive and she's not the type to go around saying anything people would rather she keep to herself. I... really missed playing her. So here she is.))
