Kyouya had already been planning to look into the disappearances, but if Tamaki had been a victim then there was actual incentive besides interest and a vague hope he might find his way out. Still, the timeline didn't make sense.

But if he was being honest with himself, he would admit that he was concerned about Tamaki. He trusted his own abilities to cope with any situation that came up, but while Tamaki was likable and seemed to adjust well, he also had a definite proclivity for being easily frightened and behaving irrationally.
"How long ago did he go missing? And would I be correct in assuming that the disappearances are being investigated by someone? Who would be collecting such information?" he asked after a few seconds of appearing lost in thought.
