From what Jensen's been saying, I'm assuming we won't see him much at all, just hear him for the voiceovers. He said he was phoning those in because he's off filming Big Sky in New Mexico, plus he's still, as you've pointed out, bearded (and long haired)!
So I'm not getting too excited about seeing Dean every week, and like you I'm hoping the writing will settle and the actors will start really inhabiting their characters. I'm not really getting any SPN vibes from it, but that's because for me, there is no SPN without Sam and Dean. 😂
I totally agree with you there is no Supernatural without Sam and Dean. I guessed glimpses of Dean will be very few and far between; I'll stick to Big Sky for my Jensen fix. I want to support the Winchesters, however, and see where it takes us!
Yes, it has an SPN "feel" to it. I liked it, especially the scenes with John and Millie. John and Mary's bond will take time to develop. Overall, I thought it was good and has potential.
I definitely want to support it and watch it for at least a few weeks to see if the characters grow on me and the writing starts to flesh out the characters.
