This was always my favorite piece of tech from Blade Runner: the umbrellas with the illuminated shafts.

Because, you know, when it's raining, it's often dark, too. It seemed so simple and elegant that I wondered why no one made one in real life. Certainly easier than the flying cars or the replicants, no?
