Hi! I need advice yet again; this time about my bouquet. This is the flower I want as the focal point in my bouquet.
It's silk (much more lasting than cut flowers) and is encrusted with glitter. -A little over-the-top, I know, but since I'm having a winter wedding and it has sort of a poinsettia look, I think it's perfect. -Sort of snow pixy-ish. I love it.
Anyway, I'm at a loss at what to do with it now. Do I need to put any other sort of greenery with it? My future mother in law suggested I take the petals off of a blue poinsettia (blue is my wedding color) and hot glue them to a bouquet holder, then set the main flower over the top. However, I tried that and together the glittery flower and shinny blue petals looked incredibly tacky. However, if I put whole silk flowers around it--even more subdued ones--they just take away from the main flower. So I'm at a loss. What else can I do? Should I put holly-like leaves around it, instead of petals? Should I leave it the way it is, and just wrap the stem somehow?
Speaking of which, how do I wrap the base? Most bouquets I've seen have been wrapped in white, but this is already white.
Any suggestions? I'm at a loss.
