So yeah, I went years without posting here and almost that long without making a pad, hand sewn or otherwise. I've just been using Lunapads and the homemade pads I have and they're wearing quite well. I've gotten back into sewing recently, non-pad items that is, and I remembered I had a bunch of new flannel lying in a drawer just begging to be made into pads. I figured out what pattern I used for my favorite pad and I got to cutting big time. I actually went a little overboard, I think I cut 90 tops.
That's only some of the 90.
The five pads I've made in the past week or two. Varying thicknesses.
The fleece bottoms, cores and tops for 10 more pads.
Funnily enough my favorite pad I'd I only made one of them. It was the best turned and topstiched pad I'd made and I think I was still intimidated by the process, but doing all this other sewing lately bolstered by confidence and I worked up the five new pads without a problem. :)
Good luck with everyone's pad endeavors.
