OK, so I'm posting already...Geez.
Who the hell is this Spaceboy Zoom and why should he be nudging me to leave a post? Do you know, Squishy? Well, ok, Zoom, here's my post on what's been up- enjoy!
It took a bit of trying, but I was able to do it. The task would have been easier had one of my so-called friends helped me on this one. But, it seems that once you are south of that Mason-Dixon line, you are on your own. What's the problem, you ask? Well, sit back and let me tell you...
Roughly a week ago, my wife is up late writing. I get tired and, deciding it is past my usual bedtime, fall unconscious. For whatever reason, I forget to log off from my live journal account before I visit dreamland. Later, I wake up (more or less) and realize that Lisa is still up. I mark it up to her insomnia. I fall back asleep. Much later, I wake up again. Still no Lisa. Some insomnia, I think. Back to sawing logs. Light through the windows. No Lisa.
"Lisa, are you still awake?"
She comes in, unhappy and bleary eyed.
"What's up? Can't sleep?" Mr. Obvious, huh?
Not much in the way of answers come forth. Morning comes and goes. I press a bit more...
Seems she had noticed I left my journal open and decided to see what people had to say. She looked at some old posts around the time of our wedding. Found some good stuff, then found an entry one of you northerners had written that struck her as quite derogatory. I had a hard time believing it... I had spent the better part of the morning trying to make excuses for what was said. There must've been a mistake.
I suggested she make a post and ask, "what the hell" (in so many words...), which she said she would do.
Later that day (evening), I thought I would check out this upsetting post to see what it actually said and if she might have misconstrued what was said. However, when I logged on and looked, I found that I no longer had access to the post in question. Very curious. It seems that the poster must be a part of the Bush administration as all traces of said post were wiped out and no responses were given. Lisa thought it was odd, too. I asked her to wait and see if she got any response to her post.
Over one week later, no response. However, Lisa is no longer nearly as upset. In fact, I think she may have blown the post off as the rantings of an anti-semetic flake. Or she is still waiting. Beats me. Regardless, she has a much lower view of my northern friends. Or at least one of them. Which, I think, is unfortunate. All it would have taken to make my week easier and to show that I have friends with some conviction is for the poster not to have made like a Bushite and instead to have explained him/herself and answered Lisa's questions.
