What kind of book is this? I thought it would help yield some answers but instead-

And it isn't a joke. The book is a means of communication between the residents.

A prisoner, brought here for the uses and purposes of a group called the Malnosso, though what their ultimate goal is I don't know. You cannot leave, and if you are called upon to serve in their army, you have no choice but to comply. There are also experiments which will be performed, which can have any number of effects on you and any you might know who are also here.
It's not unlike being a plaything, really.

Experiments performed on people? You must be joking-human lives aren't meant to be used as just-[borrowing his word...sort of.]-mere toys!
If this is true, then perhaps it's a good thing I arrived after all. I assume there are groups trying to fight against them?

Surprisingly, no. Most seem content to stay within their gilded cage, given the power of the Malnosso. It is true that these people are capable of great things. Even the strongest here have found themselves restrained, their abilities limited on arrival. No doubt you'll find yourself in a similar predicament, should your abilities exceed those of a typical mortal.

Monsters are rogue, wild creatures that will attack humans freely. Aggressive animals, you could say. As for race, where I'm from there are not only humans, but also Krityans. I'm not too familiar with them, but they're human-like in appearance.

You'll have to suspend your disbelief here, I'm afraid, at least to a certain extent. Has anyone explained to you about the wings on your back, or the concept of different worlds?

As for the wings and the different worlds, only vaguely. If you have any explanation, I'd appreciate it.

None beyond what you've likely already read or heard, especially if you've been pointed to the guide. I will reiterate any warnings you've received in regards to the wings, however. Removing feathers causes sickness and pain, while removal of the wings themselves in said to cause death.
Although even death itself is supposedly subverted here.

But what do you mean by that? About death?

Is there anything else I should know?
