Vacation

So I went home for Christmas weekend, but I had to work Mon and Tue, so I came back early Mon morning. But I did get the rest of the week off, so I'm quite happy. I get a 5 day weekend and I'm going to do all the stuff I've been meaning to do for the last couple of months. I'm hoping my friend Tony is having a new years party, I'm going to buy an outfit. Yes, for all of those who work, I would like to point out that Jan works so that we get 2 checks that don't have to go to rent (last paycheck goes to rent, 2 Jan checks, and then there's a check at the very beginning in Feb). Hope that brings joy to those who didn't know. Happy Holidays to everyone, etc. I cried when I got on the bus on Mon, that was the first time I've ever done that, and I've left my mom 5 or 6 times now. Even when I left the first time to move to Portland, I didn't cry. I just felt like this time she really needed me, and I was leaving her all alone. But I guess she's a big girl now and can take care of herself (sniffle sniffle my little mommy has finally grown up). My bus left at 6am Mon morning because I had to be to work by 1pm. I slept for the first 2 hrs, then when we stopped in some bum-fuck-nowhere town, this mom and her two boys get on the train. And they sat RIGHT behind me. MOMMY MOMMY LOOK IT'S GRANDMA! Yes sweetie, that's grandma, wave bye to grandma. MOMMY MOMMY WHY ISN'T GRANDMA COMING WITH US? Grandma's going back home. LOOK MOMMY IT'S SNOW! IT'S SNOW MOMMY! Yes dear, you played in the snow yesterday, didn't you? MOMMY MOMMY WE'RE MOVING! WE'RE FLYING MOM! No, we're not flying, the train's driving. LOOK MOMMMY A VOLCANO! IT'S GONNA BLOW UP! No honey, that's a big rock!

Throughout this, I notice that the guy next to me, slowly his snoring had drifted off. I look over and we exchange the "i hate children" glance. "You know," I said, "We've been upgraded to flying." "Yes, I caught that." "and you better watch out for the volcano" "yes, I caught that also."

Anyway, hope that made you laugh, happy new year.
