This Thursday, in the fine town of Maidenhead, my friend Steve (the erstwhile

have_your_horse and dancing chef) will be performing his excellent comedy show, Wonky Beauty, to the general public. I know what you're thinking, but Maidenhead is not actually That Far and is undoubtedly a nice place to visit. At least once.
You should come because:
(a) You will have a fantastic time and laugh a lot
(b) I am going, and I am good company
(c) Steve is a very talented and funny man
(d) The show was co-written by

the_41st_knight, who is also a very funny man (in the nicest possible way)
(e) You will be supporting an artist who deserves it.
Everything you need to know - and more! - can be found
here This is what the show is about:
An outbreak of beauty is afflicting Britain and the Government's Office of Loveliness is NOT pleased.
This unsanctioned beauty must be stopped! The best (and cheapest) men for the job are 2 freelance beauty experts: Dr Cruikshank, winner of the 1981 prosthetic industry award for Best (left) Leg - Feline Division - and Nurse Roy, who was declared hairiest baby of that year.
As people across Britain ascend into joyous states of awe, the ill-tempered virus begins to pull society apart, thrusting the Doctor & Roy on a perilous journey to discover the source of this wonky beauty.
Here is what some worthy people have said about it:
"Off the wall and thought-provoking comedy" - BBC Radio
and
"The weirdest, magical, funniest show I have ever seen" - Sheffield on Tour
Here is some practical information you might like to know:
11th May '06 - 7.45pm
Norden Farm Centre for the Arts
Altwood Road, Maidenhead
Box Office: 01628 788977
Along with a
map.
And here is how the best and wisest people will be getting there:
Travel from London to Maidenhead for as little as 12p return!*
20 minutes by train from London Paddington Station!
Here's what we suggest:
Catch the 18.36 from London Paddington, arriving in Maidenhead at 18.58 enjoy the 2 minute taxi ride from Maidenhead Station or, alternatively, walk the brisk 20 minute walk to arrive at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts with plenty of time to enjoy a tipple of your choosing in the café/bar or even a light dinner (we recommend the Chocolate Ham, because you can drink it and eat it at the same time) then, satisfy your tickle joints with Wonky Beauty at 19.45 then, be sick on Chocolate Ham and go back to the magical land of London where people live underground and no one ever lies down.
* This may be a lie
I hope you will join me on this delightful comedy excursion. That is all for now.
