So the "oral surgeon" tells me that I need my wisdom teeth removed (all bloody four) because there is "potential for crowding," which could cause "tooth decay," and "infection" in the "future." From day one, I haven't trusted the medical profession. Even here in Canada it reeks of underlying schemes of money-grabbing. Only difference is they get most of it from insurance companies, as opposed to my family's pocket. Now, anyone who knows a little about the process knows that it is a very painful and uncomfortable one. I was told flat out that there is a possibility of permanent numbness and tingling in the cheek(s) and lower lip due to nerve damage in the process of the surgery. There's a huge list of potential effects from damage that in my opinion, completely outweigh the effects of having the teeth still planted firmly in my jaw. I am experiencing no pain of any kind from having them in there now.
Also of note was the familiar desperation and subtle pushing of the office staff to get me to sign consent forms. Probably going to forego that 'till the last moment that it's covered under insurance, then make a decision.
Another boring and uneventful day.. nothing has come of the teacher strike over here.. checked again at the applications and still have nothing.
Sigh. Everyone wants more money..
