Behind every action, beneath every endeavor lies this quiet, persistent, creative force, giving strength to all who believe in it, and blend it into their lives. But let’s be realistic. How do you practice hope when you’re feeling anything but hopeful?
No matter how bleak the prospect, in every case there has to be some hopeful possibility that lies beyond the difficulty. Reach out to do that. When you do, you’ll find that your mind can’t hold two opposing ideas at once. One always displaces the other. If you’ll remember that, you’ll be able to inject hope in any situation.
Another remedy for hopelessness that I’ve figured out is to be open to the manifestations of hope that surrounds us all the time. Hope is contagious. Of you let yourself come in contact with it, you’re likely to catch it.

If you're going through hell, keep going. ~Winston Churchill
We acquire the strength we have overcome. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next. ~Mignon McLaughlin
Hope never abandons you, you abandon it. ~George Weinberg
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope. ~Author Unknown
Hope is the word which God has written on the brow of every man. ~Victor Hugo
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader's Digest, June 1995
