The door clicked and opened quietly a few minutes later, Suoh shuffling in tiredly. The past few weeks had felt ridiculously long to him. With the studio destroyed, he had spent all of his free time outside of school with Alice looking for a new place to restart the business, but unfortunately whatever they did come across that would have been good enough for their endeavors was quickly shot down when the person or digimon who owned it realized they were the ones involved in the incident in Axoryi that destroyed the studio and several other buildings in the first place
( ... )
"Hey...any luck today?" He asked, shutting his book and closing the distance between them to wrap his arms around Suoh's waist. By Suoh's expression he guessed that it hadn't. Azrak wound between their feet, rubbing up against Suoh's leg and meowing loudly, just to let him know she was there too.
"No..." Suoh sighed, leaning against Quatre heavily. He was getting tired of so many making a big deal over something that was the fault of a strange hostile that had managed to affect one of their students.
"They're all being ridiculous. I feel sorry for Alice... every 'no' she looks more and more heart broken... hey, Az..."
Letting go of Quatre, Suoh bent down to pick up the noisy cat, lifting her to his shoulder so he could pet her gently.
"...maybe Nokoru can help? He's fairly good at convincing people." Quatre suggested, then gave Suoh a lingering kiss. "Things will get better, I'm sure."
That earned a scowl, even after Quatre kissed him. He wanted to try and keep Nokoru out of it for as long as he could, knowing how stubborn Alice could be when she wanted to get something done herself. She was mostly bringing Suoh along because in a way he was sort of her co-owner of the original studio, and that he could usually be pretty convincing on his own.
Unfortunately this wasn't one of those times he could be.
"No...I thought we could order take-out and just have a quiet night." He began tracing his fingers over the lines of Suoh's face, then down his boyfriend's neck before resting his hand on Suoh's chest. "Is that alright?"
"That... actually sounds wonderful," he admitted with a relieved sigh. After the day he had, he really didn't want to go anywhere but would have gone if Quatre had asked. A quiet night alone with him was much more appealing.
"... that is if Az will let us have a quiet night," he added after a second, noting with a chuckle that the cat was now rolling around on the floor near the couch, attempting to catch some imaginary dust bunny that was underneath the crack between it and the floor.
"She's been fed, so she'll calm down soon. At least if pattern dictates anything." Sliding his hands Suoh's sides, he lazily looped his arms back around Suoh's waist.
"Maybe. But you know how she is. It seems like any time we want peace, she instinctively knows and becomes the most bothersome thing ever," Suoh pointed out while continuing to watch her.
"Mmm...that's what catnip is for." He said with a grin and pulled away. Picking up his book, he slipped it into his bag which was hanging on the back of one of the kitchen chairs.
"I wasn't gone long enough to really forget how stressful it was. I suppose I'm used to it," Suoh admitted with a quiet laugh, rubbing Quatre's arm comfortingly. "But once break is here we can do something relaxing. Maybe go to Asuka for a week or something."

"I'm not really sure what to do at this point."

"I'm sure it will eventually..."

Azrak mewed and licked Suoh's cheek before wriggling away and landing on the counter.
