What: The day after the operation...
When: Wednesday, March 9th, 2011; evening.
Where: Neon City General
The operation had been a long process. The doctors had started him on immune suppressants, and given him a clotting agent to help stem the blood flow. Then they had started by carefully tying off arteries and veins. Followed by the careful removal of his radius and ulna and all attached muscles in both arms. The extra skin was cut away, and then they began the attachment of wires and circuits encased in the metal base units. Nerve connections were made and the base units anchored to the humorous bones and forming an artificial elbow joint that would be covered with his own skin. A thin sliver band, about a quarter inch in width, about an inch below the joint would be the only visible division of human skin from artificial.
However, to make the final connections and attach the arm and hand pieces, Quatre needed to be awake. He'd slept through what little of the day was left after the operation, and through the night into the next day. When he finally came around about midday, he was groggy and in pain. They let him sleep until after dinner time when he finally came around again, this time much more conscious.
