Watanuki split his hot chocolate on himself in surprise when Nadeko ran into the apartment and slammed the door. He swore under his breath before he began cleaning it up and wondered a little at where Kazuma was. After all they'd left them both down stairs together. He looked up towards Nadeko's door and for a second he had convinced himself that Kazuma had done something to her. But...she wasn't crying, or upset. She seemed...a little angry actually.

When he was done cleaning the spill, he went to Nadeko's door and knocked lightly, "Nadeko-chan...its Watanuki, can I come in?"

Nadeko tried to convince herself that it would be best if she didn't answer. She tried, so hard. But in the end, she had stood up when she heard his voice, making her way to the door and opening it.

She did look angry ( ... )

"What the hell was that?" Doumeki asked, coming out of their bedroom. That was the second time a door had slammed in as many minutes, and he wasn't sure but it sounded like Nadeko was the one yelling.

Watanuki didn't hear Doumeki's question. He was in too much shock. He'd been trying not to be as mean to Kazuma. He thought he'd been doing better since they'd taken Nadeko to the hospital.

The fact that he was crying didn't really register until the tears hit his hand that was still hanging in the air between him and the door. He'd upset Nadeko-chan so much that she was angry with him. And he hadn't wanted that. He hadn't wanted to upset Kazuma either, but it was too easy for him to argue with the younger boy. Somewhere he knew that he was being extremely childish.

Doumeki opened his mouth to ask where Kazuma was, but he had a feeling he knew the answer to that before it was even uttered. This was a week's worth of tension and upset built up, and even if Watanuki had been 'trying', the subconscious looks of anger and annoyance at Kazuma hadn't gone unnoticed.

Apparently they hadn't escaped Kazuma, either. It was no wonder the boy was sulking so much - he couldn't even get the approval of the one person making the biggest deal out of his friendship with Nadeko, on top of being homesick, without his family, and dealing with nightmares.

He couldn't hide the scowl on his features as he pushed Watanuki out of the way, knocking on Nakdeo's door.

"Nadeko-chan. Open up."

"Please, just leave me alone!" Nadeko called back, looking up from the computer and staring a the door, pulling her jacket closer to her.

Putting a hand on Doumeki's shoulder, Watanuki shook his head. Then he pulled out his DComm and began fiddling with it, trying to pull up Kazuma's signal. After a few tries he got it up on his screen and began putting on his jacket, hat and gloves again.

Doumeki let out an annoyed grunt, flustered and tired with the whole damn thing. But if Watanuki was willing to go after him...

"Hold on," he sighed, knocking on the door again.

"Nadeko-chan, Kazuma-kun left without a jacket. He could freeze out there. Watanuki is going to go find him, and I'm going with him." he told her, hoping it might get her to open the door. "Please let us in, just for a minute."

She bit her lip, then minimized what she had been looking at and going to get one of the jackets that Doumeki had gotten for Kazuma, unlocking and opening the door a little bit to hand it to him.

Not wanting to have to face Nadeko, Watanuki had gone to the front door to wait. In the meantime he watched the little red blip on his DComm wander around aimlessly.

Doumeki took the jacket, but caught her hand before she could vanish again, speaking quietly to her.

"Tell me what happened. Please."

Nadeko was quiet for a few moments, then bit her lip and looked down. She looked as though she might start crying.

"... He told me he didn't think he should come back. He said he didn't think Wata-san wanted him here," She said quietly.

"I told him I wasn't coming back without him, but when he started talking like that, I just ... didn't know how to handle it."

Part of her regretted yelling at Watanuki like that, but another part of her felt she was well within her rights to do so. She was sure everybody was fed up with this at the moment.

"I just ... want to be alone now. Please."

Doumeki frowned, but didn't say anything in response to it. He had a feeling that had been the case, and he wasn't about to stand there and condone Watanuki's actions when they all knew he was wrong.

He reached out and rubbed her head, ruffling her hair a little.

"Stay here. We're bringing him back."

Nadeko nodded, shutting the door again and locking it. She wiped away the tears that felt like they were coming, then moved back to her bed, sitting down ( ... )

Doumeki watched her go back, hesitating a little before finally turning and leaving himself. He pulled his jacket on and put Kazuma's over his arm, just barely glancing up at Watanuki.

"Do you know where he is?"

"Yes." He rubbed at his eyes as he left the apartment and started walking at a brisk pace, eyes on his DComm. It took almost fifteen minutes and a few wrong turns and curses before he spotted Kazuma wandering in front of him.

He took off at a run, pulling the younger boy into a hug and burying his face in Kazuma's sweatshirt. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."
