At 8:30 PM, the music in Carnival Stadium wound down temporarily. Organ music began to fill the area, and in a shower of sparks Katherine appeared on the stage once again. "I'm sad to say, I've just received a call from the Netherworld," she said gravely into a microphone. "They're complaining that all the noise is making it impossible for the dead to rest... Well, that's their problem, isn't it? We'll just have to turn it up a little louder, won't we?!"

She raised her hand to forestall applause, and she grinned. "But before that, I have an announcement to make. In thirty minutes, at 9:00 O'Clock sharp, the Costume Contest will commence with judging! If you've signed up, pull yourself free from the zombie hordes and make your way to the stage by that time," she said. "And if you haven't signed up, well, what are you waiting for? The sheets are still out there! Sign up now! We've got a Digimental of Darkness waiting for a new home, and lots of other prizes to go around ( ... )

It was a bit odd for someone of his position to enter such a thing, but after all that had happened, Suguru needed a break like this. This was something that was supposed to be fun... and in the end, we were all here to enjoy life, right?

So, he walked out on stage in the signature long, blue, red, and black coat of his good friend and fellow commander, Satsuma Rentarou. He'd even dyed his hair blue and adorned an identical pair of sunglasses.

But that wasn't the end of things. Trotting out behind him was Leormon, whose fur had been dyed white and gold, and who now wore an oversized mockery of a Holy Ring. While Suguru looked to be enjoying himself, "Kudamon" looked absolutely mortified.

Swooping from the rafters onto stage in a dramatic fashion and a flash of cape was a figure that so many were all too familiar with.

But he'd been missing for over a year he couldn't be back could he?

As the massive imposing figure rose his outfit crinkled a little and the light shining off it revealed it to be Silver instead of black.

"I am Vengeance!" Growled the figure striking a pose.

"I am the night!" He struck another pose.

"I AM THE DUCT NIGHT!" He called and his form was revealed with his final pose swishing out his cape!

It was Beastboy, covered head to toe in Duct tape to look like a batman costume.

How he would peel it off later was anyone's guess.

"RAWR!" A spider monster crashed across the stage swiftly chasing a digimon.

"How did I get roped into this?" Cried Gottsumon as he scrambled across he stage dressed as a Flymon.

"Shut up and be food!" Hissed Sandy as she pounced on him, extra legs wobbling, her grotesque looking spider mask dripping goo that was supposed to be drool onto a less then thrilled Gottsumon as he pretended to struggle.

Sandy realized a rope from her D-reader and began to hogtie the poor monster with a speed that would make a professional rodeo rider jealous.

There were some gasps of shock and howls of approval as Fifi strolled casually onto the stage. Her skirt was teasingly short to the point it probably had less fabric then a dish towel and her body was painted from her stockings up with different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Her sizable chest was in fact painted to appear as a pair of pumpkins (With green stem and leaves to hide only what was necessary.)

Perched on top of this ensemble was a cornucopia fully stocked and balanced skillfully as Fifi waved and blew kisses to the crowd jiggling and swaying with each little giggle.

Shanoa and Lori. ecclesiawarrior November 1 2010, 01:29:27 UTC
It took a bit of doing, but Shanoa had managed to fight back the stage fright she felt. "It looks like it is our turn now," She spoke to her partner for this event.

Lori nodded.

Shanoa who had was still locked into her succubus form, let its instincts kick in a little to give her a boost of confidence, causing her to walk to almost become a strut as she walked onto the stage. The pale blue skin of her bosom and loin were just barely covered by her outfit. She kept walking until she just about reached the center of the stage when a voice called to her.

"Sister! Wait up!" Lori yelled as she emerged, dressed in a succubus costume herself. While her outfit still left little to the imagination, it did cover more then Shanoa's. If one thing could be said in comparison to Shanoa, it was that she was obviously the cute one of the pair ( ... )

A large white echidna walks onto the stage. The outfit matches any pictures or descriptions of the late Dr. Finitevus, but the head is quite too big. This doctor stands in the middle of the stage and speaks with an obviously forces deep voice.

"I shall bring corruption to an end in this world! Mwahahahahahaha!" With that, the smiling Fini bows and moves to walk off stage, but trips and falls off the stage.

Michelangelo wandered around the edges of the crowd, not only in clothes that looked like they could have been found in a dumpster, but also like he'd just come from a fight. If it was part of the look was anybody's guess, but he certainly was playing the part of detective well enough - checking for clues with a dirty magnifying glass and asking random people questions.

This act soon made its way up on stage where Mikey seemingly finds a clue and bags it before mumbling to himself and hurrying away.

Vivio smiled as she walked on stage, dressed in a rather... generic looking angel outfit, complete with halo and two feathery wings.

It was kinda a wonder why she didn't go into the same level of detail for her costume as she did last year, but whatever.

There was a strange moaning coming from off the stage, followed by a shuffle-scrape sound that signaled the next two contestants coming in. Haku and Onizuka had gone all out with their zombie bride and groom costume, complete with very convincing make up, torn and ruined clothes, fake blood, and Haku was even "missing" an arm. The perk of being a robot, really - she just took it off at the elbow.

But there was something off about the whole set up. You see, Haku was not the bride, nor was Onizuka the groom. They were crossdressed, with Haku's hair tucked up to look short, and Onizuka wearing a curly blonde wig matted with the fake blood.

"Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaains." The muscular manly bride cried out shuffling along after Haku as all too familiar music began to play.

It had taken the less then graceful Onizuka all month but Haku had helped him perfect his dance.

Yes. They were doing the Thriller dance. It was only appropriate after all. Even better considering Haku actually sang the lyrical part when it kicked in, doing all of the front moves while Onizuka mimicked the background zombies all on his own.

As soon as the dance was over, they shuffled off the stage, groaning and stumbling about like proper zombies. Complete with Vincent Prices' haunting laugh following them at the end of the music track.

"I'm tellin' ya, brah! Yer too heavy!" Finn grunted as he tried to keep Duo a few inches above the stage. He was clinging to the back of Duo's rather cheaply made bat costume while the young teen flapped his 'wings' frantically. The PicoDevimon really was too small to manage this feat but he sure as hell was trying.

"Just a few more feet, Finn! Come on!"

"Aaaauuugh!"

THUD

Duo promptly fell face first on the stage, Finn tumbling a few feet away. He lay there, groaning loudly. Finn sighed, rolled his eyes, got up and promptly dragged his partner off the stage.

Was that a bird on the stage?

No! It was just little Tori Shouka, bouncing around cutely in an adorable white dove costume, singing the song of the very same name.

"den den den den densetsu no
hotori mezashi te san senri~"

Ritsu didn't seem all that 'in costume' when he first appeared, shuffling with bare feet to the music with a strange, jerky cadence and dressed in a simple, loose, blood red kimono that made his already pale skin seem almost white. His hair was loose and unusually messy for how clean kept he normally was.

However his face was covered with a hand, and he had borrowed Haku's scythe, the massive weapon over one shoulder with the blade pointing down. As soon as he was mid-stage, though, it became apparent that this wasn't just him trying to pass off his normal look as a costume.

Like a mask, Ritsu's face had been twisted in to an unnaturally wide smile, two sharp fangs gleaming in the light. He had turned his eyes completely black, and as an added affect, there was fake blood dripping from his eyes like tears.

With a hiss and a growl, he turned and shuffled off the stage.
