Ryu was up on the roof today repairing some tiles that had become so worn they leaked. A large section of the roof was currently removed as he replaced the wood under it and he could see clearly into a few of the bedrooms.

"It's gonna rain." Tokagero commented sitting on the chimney watching Ryu work.

"There's not a cloud in the sky." Ryu argued steadying a nail and reaching for his hammer.

"With your luck? A monsoon, while there's still a hole in the roof. Water pouring into Anna's bedroom.

Though Ryu's face remained straight there was a sudden aura of fear pulsing off him at the idea that such a thing were possible.

He raised his hammer somewhat distracted by the thought as Bokomon scurried up onto the roof shouting "I FOUND THE STAPLE GUN!"

WHAM! Ryu's face contorted and every muscle tensed, tears streamed from under his sunglasses as he slowly lifted up his hand to look at the bashed thumb. Not broken but OH GOD IT HURT

See, Hoshi was up in her room, doing her daily meditation to help calm her mind. She found this was better doing it in the safety of her home. As long as she kept her trance, the noisy hammering and fixings of the roof didn't pull her out of it.

However, when the whamming sound came to fruition, it forcibly pulled her out of her trance, and she gasped sharply. "What the hell--" she muttered, standing up before opening her window. From the window, she climbed on top of the roof, looking at Ryu.

"What did you do to yourself?" she said, keeping her position firmly on the roof.

Withdrawing a throbbing swollen finger from his mouth Ryu smiled sheepishly and bowed his head apologetically making his epic pompadour bob. "N-nothing too serious Miss Hoshi." The sweat pouring off his face from the held in scream was a dead giveaway. He tore the bottom of his tank top and wrapped the thumb gingerly with the fabric.

"Good afternoon Miss Hoshi." Bokomon called in his voice that was suspiciously like Manta's.

Yo. "Tokagero waved halfheartedly from his perch.

"Oh, I see. You hurt your thumb," Hoshi said to Ryu, nodding in acknowledgment of Bokomon and Tokagero. Similarly, Asuka and Tsubasa decided to hang up on top of the roof, as well. Reiko was around, collecting the nutrients from nature.

"One second," said the young shaman as she went back into her room. Retrieving her first aid kit, she climbed back up on the roof, displaying the kit.

"Let me see your thumb," she said as she found a place near Ryu so that she wouldn't fall and that she could inspect his thumb.

Ryu almost resisted but obediently handed over his thumb looking sheepish and ashamed, this was manly work after all and hitting your thumb with a hammer was a manly...if stupid accident to have.

Still it was hard to complain when a pretty girl was tending to him, he repressed (Only just) a lecherous grin and his hair gave a little throb when she touched his hand.

Bokomon and Tokagero just rolled their eyes.

"I'm sorry to have disturbed you Miss Hoshi." He apologized.

Hoshi brought out the disinfectant, wedging the bottle in between her thighs to make sure it didn't roll off of the roof. She then undid the wrapping he did, placing it on her other leg. Her hand went to grab the bottle as she looked up at Ryu. "It's okay, I don't mind. Next time, be careful, will you?" she teased, smiling lightly. "Now, this is going to hurt a little bit. Think happy thoughts, okay?"

She put the disinfectant on his thumb, making sure to clean it all out. Then when that was done, her hand drifted over a roll of bandages as she started to roll his wound with them. When there was enough wrapping, she cut it and then started to tie it until it was in the shape of a bow. Next, leaning downward, she placed a small kiss like her mama used to do when she had wounds of her own.

"All better!" she said cheerily, putting the items she took out of her kit away.

It was the adorable kiss that did it.

Ryu had been swaying a little, his face getting hotter and hotter and when she kissed the bandages he let out a manly primal howl...and fell backwards through the hole in the roof with a crash, swooning over Hoshi.

"RYU!" Bokomon yelped and Tokagero called out "Moron!"

"I'm OK..." called Ryu dazed from where he'd crash landed in Tiffany and Sandy's shared bedroom. He had landed dead center between two stacks of books towering next to Tiffany's bed. They both promptly collapsed on him.

It took her a couple of blinks to realize just what went on, but surely enough, she looked down at the hole to where Ryu was.

"Oi vey, Ryu, be careful..." she said with a sigh as she went back into her room to put the first aid kit away, and then she went to where Tiffany's and Sandy's bedroom was. Opening the door, she dusted the dirt and debris off of him, then she helped him back up onto his feet. "Didn't scrape or break anything, did you?" she asked.

Ryu scrambled about suddenly full of energy re stacking the books out of order, "N-no no nothing at all!" He grinned a goofy grin.

"Are you done yet?" Tokagero mocked peering through the hole.

"Yeah this roof isn't gonna fix itself." Bokomon added.

Ryu straightened up giving a salute, "Hai!" And sprang right back out through the hole landing with a thud on the roof again sending a shower of dust down into the room.

Hoshi looked around as she shrugged. Helping out around here was something she never minded. She went on the roof herself, smiling that all too cheeky smile.

"Let me help!" she said. Cleaning out Tiffany's and Sandy's bedroom would come second, after that.

Ryu gave a little wave, "Alright, you start on that side, I'll start on this side, and we'll see who can repair more roof!" He declared.

"I-is it really wise to turn it into a race?" Bokomon questioned though Ryu apparently ignored him.

"You're on!"

To get herself more comfortable, Hoshi took off her sweatshirt, tying it around her waist as she straightened her bandanna out. She grabbed some of the materials, walking over to begin making repairs to the roof.

"Never thought you were handy with a hammer and nail, Hoshi," Tailmon said from the roof.

"Well, it's certainly different from making things with fire and the nature around you, but this is fun!" she stated while she was hammering.

Ryu was using the staple gun Bokomon had brought up, the sun shining off his glasses lenses.

"There is alot of peace to be found in manual labor, particularly for those so close to you." He responded with a zenlike tone.

"I agree. Even if it's something as simple as planting something, it has its' value." Of course, she was the resident nature dork.

"How's your thumb?"

Ryu gave her a thumbs up not taking his eyes off the tiles he was afixing, the bandaged thumb looked better already.

"Good as new!" He proclaimed.

"Such a freak." Tokagero teased and Bokomon just sighed.

"That's good!" Hoshi nodded as she kept on fixing the tiles of the roof as efficiently as she could.

"He does bring a good air around here," said Asuka as he shifted positions on the roof.

"Yeah, sure, if you like that kind of stuff," Tsubasa muttered.
