Who: Daigo, Masaru, Yoshino, Nanoha, Partners?
What: Daigo needs to discuss a plan.
When: Jan. 19th, after
this post.Where: Royal Base, Nanoha's office.
(
Daigo made a quick diversion to tell Masaru to follow him, and then he made his way to Nanoha's office. )
So, he followed Daigo. Pretty much without a word beyond yelling back into his home where he was going. Agumon, of course, followed.
But for the moment, he didn't do anything but follow. Some time ago, it'd be different, and he'd already be out there hunting people down. But... that was some time ago. So he held himself in check.
For the moment.

By the time the words came out of Daigo's mouth, she was speaking also. "Figured one of you would be here," she said, "or both. I doubt you'll be the first."
She squinted, eyes focusing on Liomon's message.
"We're down to myself, Satsuma-san, and Yushima-san here," she said. "I'll be calling Vent in on any major decisions, considering all of that, but..."
She looked up, finally. "We can't do much of anything until we know what we're hitting. I'll leave running investigations to Satsuma-san and Fate, but with Ivan and Suguru-san injured... that leaves me overseeing base tactics."
She took a breath.
"Of course... I imagine you figured all of that, and you wouldn't be here without something to say."

"I'm sure we all have a lot to say," she said, speaking up firmly but quietly. "But... we also have to make sure we don't say anything out of anger or hurt..."
She said that for her own sake, not Masaru's... in her time here, he was just as much a father figure for her as Satsuma was.
"He was the commander in charge of digimon relations, wasn't he? That means... that means it was more than just a threat on his life..."

But, all the same... they were losing both time AND personnel.
They had to act decisively.
"...and you're okay with this?" she asked, turning her eyes to the other young man in the room. "Masaru?"

"I don't like it," she said. "Not... not like this. Tsukasa... Tsukasa is much too clever for that, based on what we've been told about him... and based on the time he was here..."

He looked at Yoshino, giving her a sympathetic look. "If you're not comfortable with this, though, let us know. This is going to be a risky plan, and if the enemy's planned for it, it could prove costly," he told her. "And I don't want to put either of you in a difficult emotional position."
He paused, and glanced at Nanoha. "That, among other things, is why I'm going to be acting independently, rather than under the DATS banner. And I should warn you, as Masaru said... we're treating this like the streets. The answers we get won't come back without a few dents," he said.

"No need to go that far, Masaru."
She frowned, and glanced at Yoshino. "I understand your concerns, also... but they're right. Kagura Tsukasa may have a role in this, but I don't think it's the PRIMARY one. Touma, his family, Kagura Yuma, Katherine Simmons, Sayu-chan... they would all have likely been attacked by now."
She shifted her eyes back to Daigo. "I don't like this idea. It goes against all my ideals as both a teacher and a solider, but... you're right. We have to do this differently, at this point. We have to find out the source of this... even if the manner has its risks. I realize I can't even send a large team to flank you, because that would obviously stand out..."
She leaned back in her chair. "We can monitor you, regardless. I'll set up Brainiac 5 to monitor your position. You leave DATS without permission. Masaru follows. And we go from there."

She crossed her arms.
"I can see the point, but... I'm sorry, we need to think about what we're going to do if this doesn't work. We could lose a man, and what's more, someone who can be used against DATS due to his personal history. No offense, Daigo."
She raised her hands.
"... and think about this. Think about what plans Tsukasa has his hands in. The Demon Lords, Kurata... too many for my book. I'm all for using his plan against him, and I know I'm not the decision maker, but... this is going to need more than just Daigo."

She focused her gaze on Daigo.
"I don't think any of us could convince him of the same. Not in this case. Nor can I, in good faith. I would rather take the measures to protect his well being in addition to ours, rather than letting him go off on his own. And if anything, it will be at least one less hunter that we're not accounting for ( ... )
