Who: Lance, partners, graveyard inhabitants
What: Scouting the territory
When: January 6, after nightfall
Where: The Graveyard (coastline)

Lance traced his finger along the map's lines, double-checking the longitude and latitude over again while the actual coastline passed beneath them. Hooshah's wing-beats were slow and steady, but quiet. Draca was leaning drowsily against his back, napping a bit. No point in all of them losing an entire night's sleep, and he may well need one of them to be rested by the time tonight was over.

Satisfied, the readhead saved the map on his D-Reader, then onto the flash-drive, and then copied the updated co-ordinates into his log-book. The D-Reader may have been infinitely useful, but he wasn't about to make it the only place he kept his information. He had now scouted the entire north-western coastline of Skuld ... the eastern side, around the Poyi mountains, he had explored nearly a year ago, when he was still new to the digiworld. South was the Dark Area--he wasn't going to touch that coast, yet.

Reaching down, he tapped Hooshah's shoulder lightly to indicate she could divert her coarse slightly inland. He remembered seeing some kind of ruins as they passed last time, showing up blank and cold on his night-vision goggles, and now that he had the exact dimensions of the landmass it was time to move inward.

Draca shifted slightly, waking at the course-change, and Lance let out a long, slow breath into his mask. He had no illusions about where he was going and what he was doing, but hadn't really been worried about scouting the coast--he still had easy access to an escape route and they held a safe altitude. Inland, though ... well. It was just as well he'd made preparations in case he didn't come back.

Ahead, the bluffs fell into the sea and, beyond them, the ruins rose up out of the overcast night.
