Who: Miria, Taichi, Fanbeemon, Zeromaru What: Fanbeemon just couldn't keep is damn mouth shut. When: 6/2/09 (backdate) Takes place after this thread. Where: Royal base, training room five.
Fanbeemon stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed that Zero was staring at him. Lowering his gaze, he just continued to watch the situation from a distance. Why didn't she use her shield? Why didn't she just shove the boy out of the way? Did she really want to get hurt this badly? Was just a few of a hundred things running through his mind
( ... )
Skuld got the call about a robotic person needing repairs. In rather dire need for repairs. She grabbed her tool box and calling Renamon to run over to the training room she was supposed to be in. She saw a Fanbeemon pass by shortly before turning into the room.
Well, not much of a guess who it was. Purple blood certainly wasn't human. "Name's Skuld. Here to fix her," she said, hurrying over to Miria, Renamon following right behind. She kneeled beside Miria, pressing a button on her tool kit as she studied the damage, a bunch of tools popping out. More than really should have fit in there, but Skuld knew how to make a limited amount of hammer space if she had the right tools.
Miria tilted her head to look at the person who had just came in. "My name is Miria," she spoke to Skuld rather weakly. "I'm worried about my reactor..." Miria tried to motion to the stinger in her chest with the arm that was still somewhat intact.
"I'll tell you if I need you to do something," Skuld said, pulling out some clamps to stop the fluid from running out of the loose wiring in her arm. "Can you shut down without any malfunctions in your programming? And if not, is there anything I need to worry about in the reactor that might have a negative affect on humans and Digimon if I repair it while it's still on?"
"I can shutdown... but auto-repair system may become aggressive if I'm not holding it back," Miria answered. "Fusion reactors are dangerous even when off... Internal casing becomes radioactive after use."
"I want all three of you to leave until I'm done with her Reactor and get rid of the casing," Skuld instructed. "I can work with it on. I'll just have to be really careful."
"Will you be fine?" Renamon asked.
"I'll be fine," Skuld said, inspecting the stinger in Miria's chest.
"Then we may wish to leave," Renamon said, looking at Taichi and Zero.
They stood to leave, but Taichi looked to Miria first.
"I'm sorry we dragged you into this," he said quietly. "I'm sure Fanbeemon will come back to you if you believe in him; partnership can't be torn apart just like that."
Miria nodded weakly and smilled at Taichi and Zero as they left. She then turned her head towards Skuld before relaxing. It was odd to have someone other then her mother working on her body.
Skuld watched the three go and Renamon closing the dor behind them. "All right," she murmured, turning to Miria. "So, we got a fusion reactor that's been penetrated. Level of damage and any impurities from the stinger?" Skuld asked, selecting certain tools.
"The tip of the stinger penetrated to the core... then was vaporized by its plasma. Output has dropped to fifty percent." In other words the reactor had been breached, and part of the stinger was mixed in with the reactor core's plasma.
"Then this will be difficult," Skuld said. "Purifying it won't be easy, but I should be able to do something," she added, a light coming from her back. "Noble Scarlet will be helping me with the tools so I can work fast," she said in explanation as a girl with white wings seemingly sprouted from her back.
She looked at Miria. "I need you to stay absolutely still while I work. You ready?" She asked.
"Okay," Miria nodded. If Skuld needed Miria to be absolutely still, then that is what she would be. She gave the command to the auto-repair systems to paralyze Miria's motors, and to open up her chest cavity. Miria's body went ridged, as the system carried out her commands. Her chest opened up and revealed the machinery underneath.
The reactor had a giant gash through which one could see the core plasma churning. The plasma itself was bright, and as hot as the sun. There were several cables slithering way from the core as well; The auto-repair system was giving Skuld her space.
Skuld pulled on her gloves. "Should take a while to burn through them," she muttered. She never could get gloves that lasted for too long. As long as she could finish before they burned through, she shouldn't have any problems.
As wonderful as fusion generators were, they were a pain to repair. She took a deep breathe. "All right, let's go," she said and quickly began her work, movements quick, Noble Scarlet handing and taking away tools without Skuld needing to say a word as she focused completely on Miria, even with her gloves starting to burn.
She worked and worked, and finally jerked back her hands as holes began to form in the gloves before she was burnt too badly, merely a second from scorching off all the flesh from her finger tips. At least she had managed to seal the hole before too much more heat escaped.
"...status of the core? It should be done," Skuld asked after taking a deep breath. She'd forgotten to breathe from all the tension, covered in sweat from the heat.
Miria had gritted her teeth all the way through the operation, she could feel everything that Skuld was doing with her reactor. Several times she wanted to cry out in pain, but she didn't dare at the risk of breaking Skuld's concentration. Miria started to relax as Skuld finished up, and looked in the direction of the goddess.
"Output is at sixty-five percent and rising..." Miria answered Skuld. Then she noticed the woman's condition, and asked with urgency in her voice, "are you okay?"

"Is there anything I can do?" asked Taichi. "...Pass you tools?"

"Uh, should we leave?" And if she had an auto-repair system, had he been doing the right thing calling for help?

"Good luck," Zeromaru added.
With that, the pair left.
