The glass table shattered noisily beneath Yuma's kick, causing Kat to cringe. She cast another light spell, directing a blining flash towards Yuma's eyes, but she still sounded sad as she spoke. "Could you?" she asked quietly. "Have you forgotten any of the pain you feel?"

GrapLeomon chose not dodge the attack, but rather to respond with another of his own. The turbines on his wrists were noisily spinning now, and with a shout of "Lion Turbine Barrage!" he began to rapidly drive his fists in a blurred series of punches against the Ray, until the attack was finally dissipated entirely. With a sneer, GrapLeomon brushed his thumb across his muzzle. "Where's this different 'Lust' you were talking about?" he asked. "It seems to me the only thing that you're killing is time!"

"I REMEMBER EVERYTHING!" Yuma hisse... just before she cringed back from the light that blinded her.

Taomon snarled angrily, and surged towards GrappLeomon, abandoning spells and ranged attacks in favor of beating the lion with his brush.

"Then please! Stop doing this, it isn't gonna help you!" Kat cried out, stepping around the recliner quickly to keep it between them. "I just want you to do what's best for you, and this isn't it! No matter what you do to me, it's only going to hurt you worse in the end!"

GrapLeomon simply raised his fists as Taomon rushed in, and he closed to meet the other perfect. An up close and personal fight suited him just fine. "What are you even doing?!" he demanded. "Can you even tell me anymore, or are you just being led by that seal like it's a leash?!"

"You're just trying to save your skin!" howled Yuma, staggering around in confusion. "Everyone... everyone tosses me away...!"

Taomon roared in anger, frotthing at the mouth as he attempted to drive the end of the brush into GrappLeomon's torso.

Kat was silent for a moment, then she shook her head and sucked in a breath. "Is that what you think?" she asked, and she stepped out from cover, moving up to her. "If this is what it takes, Yuma... I'm right here, and I'm not running. I'm not going to hurt you, and I'm not going to run. I put myself at your mercy, to show that I'm willing to do almost anything for our friendship. Do what you need to do."

With Taomon trapped in rage, GrapLeomon was on top of the fight. As the brush was stabbed towards him, he sidestepped, and with an almost cocky pause, he then yelled "Beast King's Wave!" and threw a massive uppercut at Taomon's muzzle, a wave of energy streaking out from the path of his attack.

Yuma breathed for a moment... before attacking Kat with all the fury she could muster, swinging at her with wild, digi-soul empowered punches.

Taomon was caught, and was struck by the uppercut in the jaw. The priest-like fox went flying, before hitting the roof with a heavy thud.

Just as Taomon hit the roof with a thud, Kat hit the floor of her apartment with a pained whimper after Yuma's punches struck home. On the ground she raised one arm to protect her face, only under the knowledge that if she was beaten senseless, nothing more would come of it. Otherwise, she simply lay there and continued to let Yuma do as she would.

Back on the roof, GrapLeomon moved to stand over Taomon, the turbines on his wrists and ankles spinning readily. "You sloppy beast," he said. "You're only hurting your own mistress. Stay down, okay?"

Yuma shrieked and wailed as she assailed Kat, throwing punches at her head, upper body, and stomach. She was also crying, and striking out with bone breaking strength fueled by her digi-soul.

But deep inside... somehow, she knew this was wrong. The part of her that was separate from the scar BioLillithmon had left on her. She was loyal to her mistress, but.

Her mistress had never said to hurt Katherine. Even if she opposed Lillithmon... she could still be turned!

Katherine... Katherine was her friend...

Up on the roof, Taomon glared at GrappLeomon. "My mistress... IS LILLITHMON!" he snarled, before attempting to tackle the lion.

Kat knew how to take a punch, but that didn't make it any easier. All the knowledge in the world of how to lessen a blow's impact didn't make much difference when one was opening herself to those blows in the first place. With each strike, she gasped or whimpered in pain. In spite of that, she tried to force a smile into her words. "It's okay, Yuma," she gasped out amid the blows. "Just... get it all out on me. I can take it, if this is what you need...!"

"Oh, right," GrapLeomon said, stepping back and throwing a turbine strengthened punch straight into Taomon's path. "Sorry, I should'a remembered that you didn't deny being a pawn. You make me sick, you're not even a shadow of what you were. You're lucky Yuma's just as warped as you are, you don't deserve her, or the kindness we've tried to show you. I can't believe Lillithmon even wants such damaged goods."

Taomon grunted and fell back, devolving from the blow as he hit the ground. The only thing he managed next was a sharp groan of pain.

Yuma's next punch... froze just before it hit Kat. Her digi-soul flickered out, and she staggered back, a look of pure horror on her face.

When the rain of blows stopped, Kat finally let herself roll onto her side and curl up. She kept one hand on her face, but with the other, she tried to reach out towards Yuma. "It's okay," she whispered in a pained voice. "I let you do that. Don't blame yourself, you're not yourself Yuma. I don't blame you. It's okay... Don't let it haunt you, I don't want that... You're not a monster, you're still my friend."

With Taomon down and reverted to Renamon, GrapLeomon decided it was best to return to Kat to make sure that nothing had gone horribly wrong there. What he saw as he slid down the side of the building to their apartment window was not what he'd been hoping for. "KAT!" he yelled in worry.

Yuma shook, and then burst into tears. She couldn't allow Katherine to touch her. She couldn't.

"I'll be back for you," was all she managed to say, before squeezing on the item she'd been holding the whole time.

At that point... a purple mist enveloped both her, and Renamon on the roof. It sucked them in, absorbed them... and took them away. Far away.

Back to Lillithmon.

Kat didn't see her disappear, but she heard her, and she knew what happened. All she could do was suck in a breath and nod. "I know you will, Yuma," she whispered to the open air. "And I'll be here, however long it takes. Have a little faith in yourself, and things will work out ( ... )
