"And then," said Monodramon, "she steps on the ball!"
Ryo gave no response, worn out not only by his long shift at the Buy-Mon but also by his session with Doctor Peckers. It was his night on dinner, and he wasn't even going to bother trying to cook tonight. His plan was to get takeout at Hikari No Ramen, bring it back to the ship, and try to unwind with the Megadude Z and Xerox game.
"Hey, you usually laugh at that," Monodramon pointed out.
He usually laughed because Sharpay had bashed the joke to death and it made no sense. "Sorry," Ryo muttered, "just tired."
Monodramon looked at him sharply for a moment. "You're not just tired."
"I'm not just tired," Ryo admitted. He was stressed. He was worried about Molly after she'd finally succumbed to their family's typical reign of luck. He was worried again about Osamu. He was even somewhat worried about Mimi.
Monodramon stopped. Having bought the ramen they were taking the long route back to the ship, along the beach. "Need to talk about it?"
Ryo shook his head. He'd get through it. Apart from Monodramon, whom he found a little awkward to talk to about these things, Kou, Hotaru, his other friends still supported him. It was nice having people who cared.
