Akira hadn't slept at all last night. Part of it was worry for Kouki that wouldn't have let her sleep at all. The other part of it was disgust with herself. She was pissed at DATS, she wanted this fight even, but the way she'd done it...
Zaki would have kicked her ass for it.
This wouldn't help Kouki at all, and it wouldn't even make her feel better. Her anger with DATS was just a small part of it. KOUKI was a small part of it. She'd spent most of the night working on katas in front of the shop, trying to clear her head. Goblimon had gone to bed a few hours after she'd started, and he'd woken up just a little while ago. She hadn't come any closer to figuring out what she was doing in that time...
She missed her friends. She missed her brother. And she lost Kouki. She was tired of losing everything. She'd come to that conclusion ages ago, but what she could do from there, that was the problem.
After downing another bottle of water and toweling off her hair, Akira settled into a stance and began performing another kata. Goblimon was keeping an eye on things for her. She was grateful for his presence, it was at least calming in a way to still have some anchor.
The worst part of this was that she was scared, and she didn't know what to do. For all her bluster, for all her skill, she didn't have the first clue where to look, she didn't have any idea where to go, and no idea who she could ask for help.
She could never say that out loud... but maybe, just maybe, her fists could say what her mouth couldn't.
