He thought he heard his name but ignored it. He wasn't ready to face the world. Not yet...especially not him.

Ryo's eyes trailed over him. Koushirou had been working out. That explained why he'd felt different when he'd hugged him, when he'd...

The sword was going into him, twisting, cutting a larger path before being yanked out; pain was racing through him; Koushirou was laughing--

"Stop it," Ryo said aloud, more to himself than anything else. "No, not again; snap out of it!"

THAT woke Koushirou up, and immediately he let go of Ryo's hand, pushing back on the wheelie chair to get as far away as possible.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." he chanted, not meeting Ryo's eyes.

Shaking himself from his flashback, Ryo's eyes snapped to Koushirou's...hands.

"No, no, it wasn't your fault, it was...whoever had you."

The end of their last encounter was rather fuzzy for Ryo. He didn't care to try and remember it.

"Goddamnit, I thought I was in remission."

"Yeah...well..whatever." Kou said, still unable to look at Ryo.

"I'm only here to see that you're OK. And to tell you I'm not mad."

Ryo's gaze wandered to Koushirou's D-Reader and back to his hands while he tried to figure out what the hell he was talking about.

"You fucking BASTARD. For all you knew I was getting tortured every day--"

He whimpered, trying to focus on the present.

"It's...it's OK. I know it's the seal...I know...I mean...you know what I mean." He mumbled out, still completely and totally ashamed.

"Koushirou, it...it wasn't just the Seal, the first time..." Ryo admitted. "Fuck, it was so hard trying to balance loyalty to you and trying to make sure I didn't hurt my kids..."

"Whatever." Kou said, really not seeming to care. "Even with all that it's not like I deserve to be with you still."

For the first time, Ryo's eyes actually met Kou's.

"Who are you and what have you done with Izumi Koushirou? You threw me out for kissing someone else and now you're just...

"Hell, not deserving to be with someone should be my line."

"Just...I've...I've done some things I'm not proud of. And I love you, I really do,...but I'm scared of you getting tangled up in everything and getting hurt, and I hate keeping it from you and..."

By the end of his rambling he was crying.
