This is a plan I'm putting myself on to make sure I am in the best physical and vocal shape for the "Jekyll & Hyde" auditions. That show is going to take a lot of strength on many levels and I am just plain out of any decent shape. Now, don't jump to the conclusion that I am "unhappy with my body" or "trying to make myself into the media's idea of beautiful"... I just know the kind of physical strength a show like that takes... I don't have it. So, this is what I need to achieve:
1.) Best vocal shape I can possibly be in which basically means:
a. Consistent tone and tone placement
b. Good and strong breath support also consistent
c. Ability to embellish songs in correct style
2.) Trim off the belly and back fat... its getting in the way of my breathing and I just don't like having the extra weight there for me to lug around all the time. I"m hoping for 20 pounds in 9 months to come off... a modest and healthy goal I believe.
3.) The ability to do more vigorous activities, like singing and dancing at the same time, without getting so winded. I'm not quite 30... I should be able to do these things without feeling winded.
4.) Do all this without feeling like I "have " to. I am not going to change my diet... I eat pretty well as it is. I just need to be more active.
5.) Go for more walks. Do more yoga.
I think this is a good plan. I really want to play Lucy when the time comes but I'm going to have to give myself the best chance at the role that I can.
