I was out with peeps last night, so I watched ELEMENTARY during today's break, and then re-watched last week's episode. I watched this week's ep of THE MINDY PROJECT and it was hilarious! I still haven't seen SUPER FUN NIGHT, because abc's web site now requires you to verify a cable provider before you can watch current episodes. :P
I watched a
TED-ed talk on youtube by
Shaolan Hsueh about learning Chinese. It turns out that
HarperCollins is going to publish the kindle version for around $12, so I'm seriously tempted. I took a semester of Chinese in college, and I studied Japanese via
podcast and a book that also uses visual cues to help you to
memorize Kanji before my trip in 2006.
I still need to work on my latest drawing, but I'm still focused on studying for a potential test if any of the front-end development job applications pan out. The one I contacted my recruiter about yesterday probably isn't going to happen because I haven't heard anything all day. I'll spend this weekend with the jQuery books and codecademy tutorials in addition to submitting more applications. I got a referral for another recruiter from a friend, so I'll squeeze in some time to re-write my cover letter and resume so I can follow up on that lead.
I'm still waiting for someone in the forums to explain to me why the if statement I wrote isn't having the desired effect, but I can still work on other tutorials in the interim.
