New magazine
Cardmaking in Easy Steps comes with a full kit - stamps, papers, cardstock, embellishments etc.
Issue one was christmas themed, and I barely noticed it. I have enough red and green paper with christmas pudding images (free with magazines) to last me a lifetime, and I am psychologically allergic to stamps with snow scenes. It is so NOT my experience so why on earth would I make a card for someone with that kind of image?
However issue #2 of this magazine is out now, and it is a cracker. The free stamp set has 12 images, including a dress maker's dummy, vintage fashion, flourishes and embellishments. There is also matching papers and cardstock in pinks and purple tones, plus chipboard embellishments that match the stamps, and ribbons, sticky gems and pearls, buttons, bows, and more
papers and templates that can be downloaded.
It is a bit more expensive than a standard craft magazine (RRP $17.95) but for the difference, the card kit is well worth it, and the magazine is full of ideas and examples for how to use it - especially the stamps.
The shop I got mine from last Thursday had 6 copies at the time. It now has none as of Monday lunch time. So if you think you will be interested in this issue (especially the stamp set, which is worth more than the cover price) then I suggest you move quickly or order from the website.
The next issue is more kids party themed - candles, cakes, balloons, primary colours etc, so I don't think I will bother with it. But this one is pretty awesome, and it also made me thing of
emma_in_oz and
regency_rhi with the colours and images.
