mildew!!!

Last night after getting home from my costume designer's house I was reclining on my bed to read my book and looked up at my Michael Parkes print and noticed there was mildew behind it! This has been a constant problem in my current apartment, so I was going to take it down and spray the wall with clorox as per usual. I had never found mildew that high up, but mildew happens in my apartment in the rainy season. I clean it with bleach and it comes back the next year. The boy helped me take down the framed print and low and behold, the entire square of wall behind it was mildewy and there were even a few fun black widows making homes back there!! EEEEWWWWW!!! I absolutely have to move my bookcase that is against that wall this weekend. I fear that all of my fabulous art books are being ruined. I wonder if the fact that I have been living with mildew for 3 years has effected my health. I had a tonsilectomy since I've lived there and my immune system never seems to work these days, if I'm even around someone with a cold, I will surely get it.

I need a new place to live pronto! Does anyone know of a 1-2 bedroom apartment in SF or Berkeley or even good parts of Oakland for $1200 or less? I would truly appreciate any leads. Thanks!
