Day 16: 3638 words

Smallest write-in ever, but I got a lot written despite not knowing where to go without knowing what the frelling connection is. It's to do with communication, for sure, despite my having taken the most glaring language issue out of the story. I tried to derail the communication theme by having the heroine and her foreign friend have a little cross-cultural birds versus bees discussion, and even that scene wound up hinging on a glaring miscommunication.

But it also involved technology -- specifically contraceptive methods -- so I'm still left wondering what this novel is about.

On the plus side, the heroine realised that she needs the hero's help with a puzzle, so finally I have a way to draw him into the shadier side of her plotting.
