Still feeling extremely ridiculous for ever agreeing to such a silly thing, what was he 16? Sho ordered himself a coffee and sipped quietly as he waited for- Well, he wasn’t sure what he was waiting for, to be honest. He placed a hand in his lap, fingers tapping at his thigh, a nervous habit of his when he had nothing else to do. Though, he wasn’t really sure what he had to be nervous about.

It wasn’t until someone was calling out his name that his attention was drawn up from his coffee. Eyes falling to the familiar face with another. One he could only assume was the woman that ‘Sho just had to meet’ if he remembered Kei’s correct words. Judging by the look on her face, she was probably in the same boat as he was - or possibly knew even less than he. Sho got a good look at the woman, she was pretty, and he’d be even more relieved if he wasn’t the only one being pressured to hook up with someone on a blind date.

“…Kei…” He mumbled when they two got within ear shot, not too impressed by the other man at this moment for various, obvious reasons.

“Thankful?” her voice slightly raised, a brow quirked up. “I’m sorry, but I am capable of taking care of myself without your help. Besides, I don’t remember I have any stalkers. The guys were…decent.” she hated that smile, as if Kei knew everything, even the things she didn’t know. But it was quite true that some of the guys were acting possessively though she wouldn’t call it as stalking.

Sighing, Yuriko followed as Kei moved closer to the table and finally realized that the man was quite a specimen. Some people wore expensive suit which didn’t actually flatter their figure but he only needed something casual to look great, just like now. A lawyer or a businessman, maybe? Or maybe a doctor?

Yuriko glared at Kei, trying wiped off the smirk from his face (which appeared the moment he noticed her assessing the Sho guy) in vain. “So, this is Yuriko and this is Sho, and…” he peeked at his watch,”…since I have a date in 30 minutes, I’ll leave the two of you for now, Have fun.”

With that, Kei left. Yuriko, too stunned to responded, could only sigh for the second time before she decided that since it had happened, why shouldn’t she go along with the plan. Besides, this Sho-guy was rather cute…

“Yoshitaka Yuriko, actually. I assume you were dragged into this as well?”

Before Sho even got the chance to speak to Kei about bad ideas and the fact that forcing two people on blind dates - friend or not - would end in pain. For Kei. But the man was already had his back turned and was out of sight. However, he didn’t notice that grin that man shot Sho, obviously pleased with himself.

Sho sent a glare to his friend then turned his attention to the woman standing up. “I couldn’t put up with his begging any longer,” he muttered, then pushed himself to his feet and extended a hand to the woman introducing herself. Yoshitaka Yuriko. Pretty name for a pretty face, he mused to himself. “Sakurai Sho.”

He gestured to the set across from his, “might as well enjoy a nice dinner, at least?” His gut was still twisting uncomfortably. The idea of dating, the thought of it. And not to mention Yuriko was in the same position as he was - being forced to come. The whole thing just made him embarrassingly …nervous.

Sitting back down with a smile, he settled his gaze on his company, breaking the ice with a first question. “So…how do you know Kei?” He started, as, he was curious.

Yuriko raised her own hand and shook his. Sakurai Sho. So that was his name. Kei hadn’t mentioned anything about him before so she practically knew nothing and now she suddenly found their meeting amusing. A blind date then, she decided. Might as well go along with it…

“I guess so,” she shrugged her shoulder and seated herself across him. As the waiter approached, Yuriko took the menu book and skimmed through the pages. It wasn’t as if she was nervous - she had her share of dates before - but she wanted to take things slowly; who knows where this would lead? Perhaps they could become friends or…something more? Fighting the urge to lick her lips, Yuriko peeked at his neck to see the vein. Oh..

She closed the book. “Work,” she answered immediately. “We come from the same division though we have different jobs. He basically manages everything while I deal with the dead.”

Taking the menu handed to him, thanking the waiter, Sho opened it up to skim down the list of meals. He’d occasionally glance up at the other with smiles and nods as she started to speak.

Sho was just awkward sometimes. This would be one of those moments when he gawked at the woman across from him as she mentioned what she did so bluntly. “Ah. I …yea. Oh.” He stumbled over his words, feeling the rush of heat to his cheeks as he realized that he probably sounded like an idiot. Smooth, Sakurai, Smooth. Maybe Kei was right, he needed to get out and socialize more with new people. And he might admit it, maybe not. Best not to give Kei the impression that him being annoying was helpful.

Clearing his throat, then going for a drink of his coffee. “You’re in the forensics then?” He managed to recover himself completely after that. Smiling. “I bet the dead are easier to handle then Kei.”

“Yep…” Yuriko murmured while reading over the menu for real this time. She wasn’t really hungry - not for blood and especially not for human food (though she must admit that his neck seemed inviting enough and it didn’t help that he was cute) - but the titles looked intriguing enough. Oh well, which one should she choose?

Yet, she couldn’t make up her mind. So, giving up, Yuriko sighed and placed the opened book on the table and stared at him instead. “Well...” her voice trailed off as she placed both of her hands under her chin. “I wouldn’t really say that since the dead couldn’t speak and I doubt I can stand living silently forever. But Kei does drive me mad at some point, especially for how he loves to interfere with things…” Tea, coffee, tea, coffee …

A-ha!

“Earl Grey, please?” Since she couldn't settle with blood, the tea with this human name would do.

"He does doesn't he?" Sho sighed, pausing in the moment to take another look to the menu. Everything looked so delicious which could be as Sho hadn't eaten since ...lunch? Sad that he couldn't really remember how long when that was only a few hours ago. Finally making a decision, the pasta carbonara with some fancy name sounded too good to pass up with his stomach wanting to grumble happily with the idea, sho closed his menu and set it off to the side. noting that Yuriko's menu was also closed.

He continued to nod, head tilting to the side as he listened to the other speak. With the job that she'd had, she must be intelligent to say the least. This could be a plus in the entire night, pleased that at least Kei hadn't set him up with some bimbo who only giggled and twirled her hair. Sho would have drowned himself. "Yuriko-san, what made you go into your field?"

He turned his eyes to the waitress as Yuriko ordered a tea, then back to the woman sitting at the table, "Did you want something to eat as well?"
