I was almost late to my own show because someone ran into a utility pole on Nicholasville Road. The police rerouted me, and I had to take Tates Creek to 1980. I haven't been on 1980 since Dad lived in the trailer, and that was a long time ago, or at least it feels like it was a long time ago. Anyway, the show got off to a rough start for three reasons: 1)I was almost late; 2)There was a front row table of 6 people who were being loud, not paying attention, and generally distracting me; 3)I played a new song, "Arizona." I've had AZ "finished" for a little while now, but I didn't play it because I suspected it was bad. It is.

Set 2 went much better. I got more into it and even got some of those 6 people to pay attention. There was an old man who bought a CD and said he really enjoyed my performance. He didn't have email, so he made his friend sign the email list. It was cute. I really like playing Beautiful Day, and I like that most people know it. I think my version is different enough from the record to still be interesting.

Today, Roger and I went and hiked a new trail in the Gorge: Courthouse Rock. The 5 mile loop was more scenic than the trails we usually do, but it doesn't connect to any other trails, hence 5 miles is more or less the max you can do. Tonight, I had Ryan and Leanna over for dinner. I made that cranberry-chicken thing from UD (I put my sauce over tofu). Mmm... good times.

My next show is this coming Saturday at Common Grounds. Ira Duncan will open, and then I will play from 10-11. Come on out!!

Show Milestones:
Debut of Arizona.
