Of course, that is entirely not representative of my evening, since my feet only started hurting on the train home, which was probably when whatever made me happy between this afternoon and this evening started seeping out of my life. Anyway, I'm starting this backwards, so rewind, back to around 8 o'clock tonight, when I walked up to the Noel Coward Theatre with Keith in order to meet
lesyeuxouverts,
long_roadtoruin and her lovely fiance Al,
daemon_will,
potatocubed, and
fluffymark so that we could go and see Avenue Q.
Avenue Q is awesome. There are no words to describe how much I laughed. When they finished I clapped as long as I could until my hands we numb (which is amazing because I was wearing my delightful gloves) and I wanted to stay and live there and watch it a dozen more times. The original cast recording is available on Amazon for £9.98 for an actual CD form, and £7.99 for the download - I'm inclined towards the CD since I want to have it in an actual format in case my computer blows up. Anyway. It was absolutely fantastic, and if you haven't seen it you have just less than a month to remedy that. And do because it was SO worth it. We had bloody great seats too, at the back of the Royal Circle. Apart from the guy who moved to in front of me after the interval, which I shouldn't complain about because that's what happens in theatres, I have no complaints. I think my favourite song is a toss up between Everyone's a Little Bit Racist (because it's pretty true), The Internet is For Porn (because, well...), and My Girlfriend, Who Lives In Canada (Hee). All in all, I had a fantastic time, and I thank you all for coming.
I was convinced on the way down to Charing Cross that I wanted to go for a drink with
lesyeuxouverts because she called me, and so I joined her and her friends (who I will add in when I've had a chance to check their names with the girl herself) -
jamesmcgraw and the other one who I still need a name for... - and Keith and Will came also. We stayed until we got kicked out - I think we were actually the last people to leave, which was nice! And then I could've been pursuaded to go on further, but was extremely sensible and decided to go home and sleep. And here I am... er... not sleeping. Partly because I have QI on the sky+ box, and am watching it, also because I came in and the cat was desperate for attention, and I was hungry. The other reason is because I got on the train quite happily and squashed myself into a corner because it was the last train and therefore quite busy, but some men had a problem with all the happy drunk people and the worn out sober people making their way home and decided to start a fight. They ended up with their hands around each others necks and it was slightly scary (I was squished into a corner behind a very attractive young lady who was behind her boyfriend so I was protected, and not all that upset...) but not that scary. Unfortunately, guy number one - the trouble maker was very interested in pissing off all the macho drunk arses who didn't just ignore him but tried to fight him, so there were at least three scuffles, not including all the little bits where someone decided to get and be peacemaker - the not-quite-so-drunk arses of the evening. So that wasn't fun (although watching some smooth looking guy in a suit getting scared of a not quite as big as him old-ish guy was slightly amusing!).
I'm home safe (obviously) now, and I have just had some special K, and am going to watch Jonathan Ross (having finished QI) and then go to bed. Maybe. But first, ice cream.
*stops wittering*
EDIT - Because I just noticed,
scans_daily has been suspended! *very very sad face* I hope that it's not for something that can't be fixed because, seriously,
scans_daily is my daily dose of wonderful.
