*giggles, but musically*

Suddenly had the urge to watch The Little Mermaid. Having recently read the Hans Christian Anderson tale, I felt it necessary that I replace my faith in romance and the fluttery warm sucrose that is Disney's version of love. It's made me all giggly and I've been singing a lot! *giggles* Of course the magic is somewhat dinted by the fact that I've just realised that Disney somehow believes that water rhymes with hotter, which it doesn't, even in a Jamaican accent. Also, why would you leave a teeny tiny crab in charge of a huge mermaid. Like, oh, big strong male can't stop her, so we'll send a crustacean the tenth of her size to stop her instead. LOGIC! *giggle* If there's anything to be learned from The Little Mermaid, and in fact any Disney movie, anyone singing about how wonderful and nice they are... They aren't.

Of course there is a real life lesson from The Little Mermaid, it's, that if you're going to ditch your friends and family for true love then you still made a decision and you can't complain about the consequences of said decision, no matter what they are. I suppose, it could be said that Disney's The Little Mermaid is a metaphor for growing up... Or something. Oh, yeah, also, you have to fight for what you want, but that's obvious.

I'll say one thing for her. Ariel has a good set of fingernails on her. If I could keep mine that neat and even, I'd be very pleased. However I'm stuck with the most uneven nails I've ever seen, which won't stay polished no matter how hard I try!

On bad thing about The Little Mermaid, is the people writing it seem to think that lobsters (again I think - but crabs too) are dead when you cook them. When everyone knows that if you want the best shellfish, you have to murder them by plunging them into boiling water. Or watta, as Sebastian would have it. I love the name Sebastian... pity it can't be shortened, or I'd have it down as a name for one of my kids, I'd never name a child anything that they couldn't completely alter when they decide that they hate the name I've given them! Incidentally, the reason I love the name is not because of the crab (lobster?!) but the Main male character in the first couple of stories in the Sadler's Wells series. I loved him, and he was an amazing character - when I was ten! It's funny, because I always imagined that Sebastian actually looks something like the Prince in Little Mermaid, but not where near as utterly utterly wet...*snicker*

Hmm. That is a very random bunch of thoughts I've just had. *shuts up*

's a pity I don't have anyone to share all this with in a one-to-one format. No matter, I'm sure that the world is just waiting for me to contact them, and not actually spending it's time not contacting me.

Ooops. A thoroughly positive entry ruined by just being me... again.
