They were running. High above the city, over the large pipes and cables, Tsume in his human form could be seen running with some other humans, various goods in their hands. They had broken into the Noble facility, stealing their supplies, and he knew there would be high risks. The rain of bullets from behind and above was one of them.
As they were running over the pipes, Tsume paid no attention, easily outrunning and evading the shots. He didn't even notice one of his gang members had lagged behind until he heard a yell and the kid cry for help. Cry for him.
It took him a second to register the younger human hanging off a small pipe before he dropped the box he was carrying and ran back to him. He leaned down to help the kid up, but an odd scene occurred.
For sure Tsume had been human before. But when he reached down with his hand, the scene changed to reveal his dark gray wolf form grabbing the kid's shoulder with his jaws. When the kid he was trying to help saw that a wolf, not a person, was grabbing him, he screamed, and Tsume accidentally released him in surprise.
And so the boy fell to his death. The same kid who earlier that day had said he wanted to be friends with him. A stupid idea. And this was just another reason why.
