That CD You Don't Want Anyone Else to Hear...

Dec 20, 2005 20:04

Everyone has a CD in their collection, or an artist they listen to on their iPod, that they don't want other people to know they have. You're thinking of that CD right now. You know the one I mean. The one you can only listen to in the winter when you HAVE to have your car windows rolled up... and if you do dare listen to this forbidden CD in the summer with your car windows down, you turn the volume waaayyy down when you pull up to a two-lane stoplight or a residential neighborhood. If your friends see the CD in your collection, you quickly use on of the following excuses: "I bought it when I was in Junior High cuz I was going through a phase; oh this? It's my little brother's/sister's; how did that get in there?; it makes a good travel coaster; I had to use it in a slideshow presentation...." God forbid if your friends actually hear you playing this CD. There's nothing quite like getting busted. You try to squirm, but you really can say anything except one of the following: "aw come on, it's fun, I used to listen to this stuff when I was a kid and it brings me back; I just felt like listenning to something different;" or my personal favorite "fuck you, I like it."

So what is this CD for all of you? What CD do you least like to admit that you listen to? EX: you're a young guy and you like Celine Dion, you're a schoolteacher that likes gangster rap, you're anyone and you like Madonna... what's that artist/cd for you? Post a comment here to share! Here's mine...

Since I was around 13, I have always liked this euro pop artist called Erasure. They made a very fleeting hit about 10-12 years ago, but never came back with anything good. Most of all, it's synthesized intrumental with a guy singing almost exclusively falsetto. To say it sounds a little "Metro" is an understatement if you catch my drift. But damn it, I like it! So there, I have cleansed myself... now your turn!
