...well, pretending to work might be more accurate. Though he had his current project open on the computer, he was paying less attention to the writing and more attention to tapping a pen against his desk. Tap tap. Tap tap tap. Maybe if he found another pen, he could try tapping out the drum part to that "Wipeout" song, wouldn't that be exciting?
He leaned back in his chair and flung the pen across the room, watching it hit the calendar on the wall. Three days until his next deadline. Finish up now, or put it off just to make Micchan sweat...?
Judging by the lack of noise, it seemed safe to assume that most of the occupants of the house were either too busy somewhere to notice an 'intruder' or not actually home at all. Rin lingered in the hallway for a moment longer, listening to the silence. Convinced that nothing was about to disrupt that silence, she continued on her way.
Part of her wondered what might happen if that girl was around after all. Rin frowned at the thought. She didn't want to run into her.
Outside of Shigure's room, she stopped, staring at the sliding door. He was probably in there; if not, maybe everyone had gone out. She felt almost unwilling and uncomfortable to enter unannounced, but this might be her only chance...

Rin stayed where she was, standing in the doorway. "Fine," she replied curtly. A few seconds of silence passed, then she finally stepped into the room, reaching behind her to slide the door shut. "Are you busy?" Rin glanced at Shigure's desk.
(and wow but I am slow about remembering to reply to this; go me!)kimono_and_penMarch 6 2006, 07:06:40 UTC
"Only really pretending to be, for now." He leaned back in his chair and gave her an appraising look. "Not so busy I can't put it on hold for a bit, at any rate."

Rin's gaze flicked away from the desk and returned to rest on Shigure. "I won't keep you for long, if you answer straightaway," she said. "Gure-nii..." Another step forward. She wasn't going to waste time; it would be better to bring up the topic without waiting any longer. "The curse. You know how to break it, don't you?"
If he didn't, she hadn't even reached square one. Rin pressed her lips together in a frown. He had to know. And she was willing to do anything to extract that knowledge from him.
She frowned at him, studying the expression on his face. Was he just trying to feign ignorance to brush her aside or did he really have no answer for her? She was inclined to believe the former - she hadn't expected this to be easy.
"You're in Akito's confidence, aren't you?" Rin paused. "Because Akito is 'fond' of you."
"But what about the curse?" Rin pressed, struggling to keep the impatient, near desperate edge out of her voice as frustration welled up at Shigure's evasive reply. Was he trying to avoid giving her an answer? She knelt down beside his chair, her gaze fixed on Shigure's face. If he honestly didn't know, whom could she turn to? Who would know the answer and be willing to come out with it? And wouldn't speak of her intentions to anyone else?
Maybe Hatori? He saw Akito on a regular basis, didn't he; it was possible that he'd heard something at some point... It seemed less likely to Rin than the possibility of Shigure possessing the information she wanted, but it wasn't impossible.

Life was just full of hard decisions.

Rin pushed the door open. "Gure-nii?"
