The Citro Plains. Try as she might, Rosa could not conceive of the place as a battlefield. The expanse of green verdancy reminded her of the Baron countryside, even though the landmarks were different. She'd come to know every aspect of the location from the number of times she'd chosen to linger there.
Today being no different than those before, she meandered through the grasses and stooped to appreciate the sprinkling of flowers that dotted the landscape. Cecil would join her and they would walk and talk and enjoy the peace while it lasted. While it lasted for it could not continue forever.
Word from Cosmos to fight for home. Then silence. Silence and waiting, and dread. This must be the calm before the storm and the waiting on the brink grew wearying and invited complacency. Yet if this must be an end, there were matters of the heart that the gentle mage wanted to address first.
